Q: What new release(s) are you looking forward to today?. #Fresh by @margotmwood is OUT IN THE WORLD TODAY! 🐓 And I'm so so happy and so excited for everyone to read this book. Fresh is set in college - Emerson College in Boston, to be exact. 🌆 Elliot is a freshman and she wants to experience EVERYTHING college has to offer! She's ready for ALL OF IT. She's also openly bisexual and I love that. This book is refreshing and laugh out loud worthy - I'm only halfway through it but I've laughed more times than I can count - this book is FUN and refreshing (pun totally intended.) There are footnotes throughout which only made me love Elliot more. She's so relatable and REAL. Also. Check page 69. For no reason in particular. Nope. None at all. 🐓 I wish I had this book in college, but I'm so glad it exists NOW. Please give this one a try - its fast paced and if you need a smile, this book will give that to you and then some. Alicja Kwade's (born 1979, Poland) work is elegant, rigorous, and highly experiential. Using a wide range of media, Kwade creates sculptures and installations that reflect on time, perception, and scientific inquiry. With equal parts poetry and critical acumen, she calls into question the systems designed to banish doubt from the world and make sense of an otherwise unfathomable universe. Ultimately, Kwade seeks to heighten both the mystery and the absurdity of the human condition in order to enhance our powers of self-reflection. For The Met, Kwade has created two sculptures using steel and stone to evoke a miniature solar system, a piece of space that has settled temporarily on the Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Roof Garden.
