AS AN EXTRAVAGANT party heads into it’s second hour, and guests are becoming intoxicated with food, and drink, and the riches that decorate the home of one tony stark --- billionaire --- a spider climbs the stairs and begins to spin her web. while many, including stark himself, had noticed a beautiful young woman mingling through the crowd ------none could have guess how dangerous she really is. a trained assassin who’s come to infiltrate their night of revelry and bring an end to any future festivities that might have occurred thanks to their host. 

how unfortunate for the rabble of california’s elite. 

but their loss is the black widow’s gain, and when she finds the perfect spot after disposing of a few security guards who’d been far too taken by the woman to notice the weapon, she begins to put her plan into action. 

originally, she’d considered poisoning the man, but it seemed the panic that would ensue from a single gunshot in the middle of a crowded party would make for such a delicious scene. and natalia has the best seat in the house.

it seemed, however, that someone had come to spoil her fun. and while her weapon remains trained on her mark, her words are directed toward her intruder.

@anakinskywalkrx: I’m going to start with you, unsurprisingly! I’m enjoying our thread a lot, it’s the only one I have where Steve’s an actual kid, and I think those two troublemakers together really cute and a lot of fun. ^^ And what I admire about you is your loyalty, and your adaptability, to be able to just roll with whatever scene and setting and world you’re getting thrown into. I think that’s absolutely awesome. :D

@cantmiiss: JenJenJenJen. I’m telling you regularly how much I love you, but I don’t see how doing it some more can hurt. You’ve been there from the second I stepped into the Marvel RP community, and you’ve always been the best friend I could ask for. I literally don’t know what I’d do without you - I probably wouldn’t even be here. Don’t ever leave me, girl, I love you to bits.

@hydrasweapon: I think you’re the only person I’m actively writing with on this blog who I’ve actually seen in real life! And we should do it again some time soon because it was such great fun. I love always being able to chat with you about everything, including the silliest things, I love our threads to pieces, and I’m so glad to been given this opportunity to meet you and write with you. <3 (Aber ernsthaft, lass mal irgendwann wieder treffen... die Zeit der Weihnachtsmärkte steht ja vor der Tür oder so... ;))

This is a Public Service Announcement

Okay, joke aside: I don’t usually do these things publicly but today I’m going to, because a very special person deserves it.

Jen, I’d like to think I’ve always done alright with both telling you and showing you how important you are to me. I can talk to you about anything, joke with you, rant to you, get comfort from you. I always look at the clock to see whether you might be up yet, and I’m happy to hear from you every single day. Writing with you is the biggest pleasure, and I will never stop wanting to do All The Things with you. I trust you and adore you, I love how similar we are in so many things, how you just understand me. There are a lot of things I wouldn’t have today without you, and you better be prepared that I’m going to follow you around forever.

Maybe it’s not an extraordinary day today in terms of, you know, work and all the other mundane things, but I wish you a beautiful day anyway, all the sunshine in the world, a whole load of presents, the best food, and no one to annoy you. I wish you all the happiness and love and health in the world, and that all the things you wish for come to you.

And also a bit of patience until I can finally make my way over to you to see you.

“ — Because....misery LOVES company. ” She reaches out and settles a hand on his shoulder. She has to reach up to do it, he towers far over her by nearly a food and a half. The gesture feels a little silly with the height difference but she doesn’t care.

The text message she got was alarming in and of itself. Asking her if she can come over, ‘it’s important’, and Natasha dropped everything she was doing in the blink of an eye.

They live close enough to each other, have for years now, so it’s only a ten minute walk through the streets of Manhattan - Natasha makes it to his building in just over five.

It doesn’t help that there’s a police car parked in front of it, and Natasha feels her heart plummet into her stomach. She still has no idea what’s going on, only that it isn’t good, and the trip up in the elevator feels like it’s taking years. And it’s a good thing they have each other’s keys, because Natasha doesn’t think she could wait even long enough for the door to be opened.

To be fair, Natasha doesn’t say anything for quite a while.

They’re making dinner, a honey sesame seed chicken recipe she wanted to try, and it looks good and smells good, and Natasha is happy with that. What she’s not happy with is her best friend. And she’s not in the mood for hiding it.

Damn his stubbornness.
