Dave Patel as Sir Gawain in Green Knight really came through for my brain because not only he jumpstarted the idea of Woodkid, he's also my main inspiration for Solon. A heavily flawed wandering knight, so far removed from the fairy-tale rendition of knight we used to see in stories. Green Knight really is the movie for me. without it, i wouldn't even think up about wood creature and his grumpy knight...

Maybe an actual species that's sparse in number but powerful in their own way... could be opportunity to design more wood people. Altho this could undermine the idea of Woodkid and Old Creak as forest's manifestation....

A seasoned ex-merc or ex-soldier, who fell out of his faith and struggled with the abscene of it yet pushes it all down to be the much needed cool-headed leader for his stupid underlings (including Solon), meets Woodkid whos actually the walking proof of his ex-faith and got his world ROCKED.

What if this ex-believer met with the closest thing to God from his ex-faith, and confronted it? what if he can connect with Him not with the dehumanizing act of worshipping, but with communicating and relating to Him as a being to another being? The worshipped isn't Woodkid btw, but a similar kin of Wood creatures.

gosh thank you!! honestly the major reason is because im a pervert 😇

but also because its going to be boring if Woodkid is all bark (heh) and no other material. adding those softer, membrane-like materials made nice contrast with the harder, more textured wooden part of him. i think it made his silhouette looks more pleasing yet strangely alien.

Maybe a subset of the Towering King's (TK for short) army who both worshipped and hunted wood creatures such as Old Creak in his younger days. Maybe they influenced TK to come after Old Creak in the first place, in order for whatever goal they had in mind. Power, probably.
