Live Free or Die Trying
Their wings had barely been healed a week when they made another desperate attempt to escape. They had managed to get outside this time which was the furthest they had ever gotten. They ran as fast as they could while frantically trying to get their wings to push them off the ground. Shouldering past pack members was terrifying but they managed to break through the small crowd who grabbed at their wings and feathers in a feeble attempt to catch them.
The sound of running behind them and howls filling the air spurred them to run harder. They pleaded with their sore wings to get them into the air but they could only make it a short distance into the air before their wings hurt again, forcing them to land.Â
A piercing howl sounded nearby and sent a wave of terror washing over Drew. They knew they had to get away, they couldn't go back. They needed to go home. They made another attempt to get off the ground and succeeded in getting a bit higher this time, but their wings were in agonizing pain. They collapsed to the ground and gripped a handful of their hair in frustration.Â
Suddenly, there were canines everywhere, slowly closing in on the panicked avian. A sharp whistle cut through the low drone of growls, a split second after and the canines attacked. They threw punches in an attempt to fend off their attackers and even bit them. There were too many of them though, too many teeth, too many claws, too much.
Sharp teeth sank into the avian's thigh, resulting in a cry of agony as they hopelessly tried to fight off the canines. They could feel the blood starting to run down their leg as the canine sunk her teeth deeper. The fight was short and Drew was easily subdued. Their wings were pinned to the forest floor, a painful set of jaws clamped around their thigh, and the sound of miserable sobbing was what made up the scene in front of Green and Master.Â
A disappointed tsk and the sight of Green in their teary vision made their heart sink. They were overly aware of the sharp canine teeth embedded into their leg. Green gently stroked their dirty blonde hair from their face.Â
"You're a sorry excuse for an avian⌠and an even worse excuse for a pet." He stated flatly. "Let's go." He ordered the pack. The canine holding Drew's leg in her mouth got up and began dragging the avian back. She readjusted her bite several times which made more tears form in Drew's eyes as they were dragged through the dirt and leaves of the forest floor. Their adrenaline rush was beginning to fade and so were they, soon the pain set in and they passed out from exhaustion.

â Graphic body camera video showed the moments a K-9 officer latched on to Moyaâs arm and shoulder as police were trying to handcuff him.
âI didnât do nothing to you! Ow! Get this dog off of me sir!,â Moya screams in the disturbing footage.
Police said Moya was arrested for resisting arrest. He was charged with felony obstruction of officers. The charges were later dropped.
â Â Alpharetta police initially found no violation of the police departmentâs policy on use of K-9s.
