it seems like your playing has gotten smoother, how are you feeling about your progression as a harpist? do you feel like you're getting closer to being able to perform in public?
Thank you for the comment! It’s weird, but I think I am playing a little bit smoother and more confidently than before. It could be because I’ve been spending more time figuring things out by ear / arranging so I’m gaining a better understanding from the composer’s perspective.
As for performing in public, I still feel like I need to build and actually maintain a repertoire, but learning to parse things into chords and melodies instead of just long series of notes is helping.
I’m actually trying to convince some of my friends to go on a picnic with me to a local park so I can play my small harp in public, but surrounded by friends so I don’t feel as nervous. I’m also taking lessons this summer to learn more about music therapy / certified music practice so I can eventually start volunteering in hospitals, etc.
