It seemed like it was fool proof. Allow them to deal with you while Stash found a way out, then before you were put in the car, duck and hop over the fence to escape. Candyman knew he could probably jump with cuffs on and felt confident in his plan before-
He felt Stash grab his sleeve. That ‘don’t’ really sucked the willingness to do so out of Candyman... but he couldn’t let Stash be arrested or hurt. Not now- not when they still had so much to do! Candyman cared more about their time than anything else right now. He felt almost attacked that the police might ruin this!
So, Candyman turns to sweep his arm under Stash’s legs and swing stash into his arms. It’s been a long time since Candyman cleared jumps like this and he was still trying to get that height back... but he can do it!
“Hyup!”
Candyman gave it a try, leaping straight up then kicking his foot against the fence to not crash into it when they didn’t make it. With Stash’s weight and Candyman’s still adjusting legs, he could only get halfway.
“Stop!” An armored officer shouted, aiming a weapon. The words prompted hesitance from Candyman to try again, but he knew he couldn’t listen to them. They’d hurt Stash. They’d take Stash away.
Candyman tries again, deciding not to care with the obvious weapon drawn. A strong leap, still just short..! Candyman kicks his legs a little, hoping maybe to kick off the fence for that little piece of height before-
Click-clack!
Another strong leap mid-air giving more than enough height to clear the fence. Candyman wasn’t ready for such height and required landing, having his legs bent to take the impact but stumbling and dropping Stash along with himself.
They were over the fence, but not quite out of the woods. What the fuck just happened?
“C-come on! I know where to go!” The mutant tries to grab for Stash’s hand to drag him after nearly falling over again like a spooked deer.
