Mr. Hanes walked inside the dorms and saw everyone was already waiting for him in the meeting area. “Thank you all for gathering together. There is not much time for me to explain, so listen carefully… Two of the morning students have just been brutally murdered. The police officers aren’t as concerned as we are. I need all of you here to partner up with some of the morning students and stick together. If we all come together, we can beat the murderer. Any questions?”

Bianca was beginning to tremble. “Uh.. if they’re getting killed there.. why should we go? It’s so dangerous.. what if we get killed?!”

Candy pat Bianca on her back, slowly calming he down. “Bianca, we need to help those students. They aren’t gifted like us! What if we were in their shoes.. wouldn’t you want someone to help?”

Chip looked just as uncertain as Bianca. Rei didn’t seem to agree with the idea that much. “You want us to risk our lives to save some pathetic humans? Yeah, right. How do you know the killer’s not one of us?”

Everyone slowly turned to look at Rei except Tracy. “No way it could be one of us, Rei! We were all here since morning.”

Erica didn’t get along with anyone, but she was willing to make it work. “Whatever, I’ll help. Are you going to tell the underclassmen too, Mr. Hanes?”

Things were calm with the upper night student’s, even after the eventful night they all had.

Rei was still upset that he was unable to save Keith. “He didn’t deserve to die..”

Candy always managed to make the best of negative situations. “Maybe it was his time to go, Rei. Don’t beat yourself up over it. You went above and beyond to help, and for that I congratulate you. You’re one step closer to opening up!”

Rei scoffed in return. Erica didn’t like Rei, but she knew how upset he was. “She’s right, Rei. You finally helped a human instead of-”

Bianca and Candy were assigned to be dorm buddies, and they both didn’t seem to mind each other. Candy was stuck to the computer while Bianca tried to see if she could read her mind without holding he hand, but it wasn’t working.

“Damn it, all of my family members can read others without having to touch their hands... Even my little cousin who’s 6. I’m so weak... Gotta practice!”

She walked behind Candy and introduced herself.

“Hi there, Candy! My name’s Bianca. I’m a reader/teller! I love your wings, they’re so swirly.”

Candy talked to Bianca, but kept her eyes on the screen.

“Hi! Wait.. How’d you know my name... Oh never mind you just said you’re a reader. Hey! You should tell me my future! Like.. What will I eat tomorrow for breakfast?”
