It had been almost an hour since Violet's Dad called her down stairs to talk to her about something --her school attendance, no doubt. They had been upset about her skipping so much. Truth was, she couldn't go even if she wanted to. She was stuck here now, but what she didn't know couldn't hurt her. Tate paced the old creaking hardwood floor, and waited. Finally after what felt like forever, he heard her footsteps coming up the stairs and met her at the door.
"how bad was it? Scale of 1 to -" but before he could even finish his sentence her lips were pressed to his. It was the kind of kiss that made him lose his train of thought all together, the kind that sent waves of intense urges over him. Ever fiber of his being was telling him to throw Violet on her bed. He wanted, no, -needed Violet. Right now. She knew exactly what she was doing to him. She had been doing it for weeks now, ever since Halloween night. Her constant attempts to throw herself at him was wearing his patients thin. It's not that he didn't want to... God did he want to... but it didn't feel right. She was dead. Dead and stuck, and he felt like he should tell her that. He didn't like keeping secrets from Violet, and there was no way his conscious would let him proceed.
FInally, just when he thought he was about to give into her, he gently pulled away. It was almost painful for him to stop himself, but it was necessary. "that bad, huh?" Tate tried sway her from her determined plan, and for the moment it had worked.
