There are times when I hear that bell and it is bittersweet. Because we never got to ring that bell. We never got to the finish line. We never beat cancer.. cancer beat us.. I am happy for those who get to stand there and grab that string and ring that bell, and echo the sound of victory throughout the halls of Roswell Park. I'm grateful for the days and years that they get to have their loved ones with them. I am also sad for the days and the years and the memories that cancer stole from us. I will always cherish the ones that I do have.. and I hold on to those.. someday.. somehow there will be a cure for cancer. I believe that. Until then we all keep fighting and battling.
