CAMILLE O’CONNELL APPRECIATION WEEK
Day 7: Leah Pipes Appreciation
I wrote a long-ass post a week ago which, by the way, got twisted by some people… A post of 2000+ words about why I LOVE Cami and Leah, but apparently only 17 words (literally, I counted) about ME not liking a certain ship mattered and it turned into hate. Sorry for indirectly creating a mess, it wasn’t my intention at all. I naively thought I could express my opinion and spread some love. My bad.
That being said, at first I didn’t think of doing this Camille Appreciation Week… but finally I couldn’t resist. So, because I don’t want to sound repetitive I won’t talk about Leah’s impressive acting skills nor how good of a person is she, nor about the beauty cliché (even tho this woman is insanely pretty).
I’ll talk about Leah in social media. Because following her is one of the best things I’ve done in a while. I’m addicted to her instagram. Like I smile everytime she posts something… sometimes I even laugh like crazy. I love how natural she is, the fact that she’s the first one who laughs at herself. Those snarky captions give me life. I love that she does not have any filter, she doesn’t need to be fake or pretend… and the fact that she shares all of that moments with us is the reason why I love her. She’s just who she is, she basically doesn’t give a fuck and I love her for that. Like, this dork posting a picture with a plastic bag on her head, her purple face after a running session, her mouth full of melt chocolate or even a fucking screencap of her ugly crying… then she shares some adorable pictures of her husband, her family, her friends or her pets and my heart melts. That’s what I appreciate the most about an artist, that even if they’re famous they can still be NORMAL. And this girl over here is probably the most down to earth person I’ve ever known (not in person, sadly… but you know what I mean). Her instagram looks like so simple and sincere, like any of ours would look and not like a fucking photoshoot that, at the end, only makes you think: damn, I’m miserable. I wish I had money, unaffordable dresses and a makeup artist, hairstylist and photographer 24/7. I think it’s important for fans to conect with your idol in that way, without feeling the obvious power pyramid, like you’re the last shit on this world and they are sacred. Leah makes you feel closer to her, and that’s precious, truly.
Then there’s twitter… and I love that she tries to keep in touch with us. She always answers people so kindly and favorites our tweets just so we know that she’s there for us as we are there for her. It’s completely reciprocal and I can assure you, that feeling is priceless. And I also love her sense of humor, and how ironic and sarcastic and hilarious she is… You can clearly see that she is an intelligent woman based on her shrewdness. But also so polite and classy and honest, brutally honest, and pure. She’s so entertaining and enjoyable. So even if people don’t watch The Originals, they 100% should follow her. It’s totally worth it, I swear. She’s unique. And you’ll want to hug her, let me tell you.
Oh, and before I forget the most important part…. THANK YOU, LEAH. For letting us know you and for being exactly who you are. Don’t ever change. I wish you all the very best in your life; Joy, happiness, love, health and success, because you DESERVE everything. I (and so many people) love you to pieces.
