CHARACTER DESCRIPTION
Basic (ideas of what you can include):
What they’re like: Cameron is used to being the popular girl that everyone loves to hate. She has a thick shell and a bloated sense of self. She knows her strengths and uses them against people to get what she wants. She is not easy to be friends with. Cameron is extremely intelligent but often acts like a ditz because that is what people expect.
Habits: Taking long showers, working out, making fun of people
Further explanation of traits: Cameron is not a nice person. She is the top bitch in all the high school movies, the one who loves to see the suffering of others. She is a volatile force to be reckoned with, not only because of her considerable social influence but also because of her supreme intelligence, which she uses to manipulate people.
Family background: Rich divorced parents with a bored daughter stuck in between, miles beyond any of her classmates. Only child.
History (childhood etc.): Cameron was given everything as a child, which is why she still demands it all today. Her childhood was where she learned to get the things refused to her, and now she uses that skill every day.
Reason behind codename: Venus, the Roman counterpart to Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty. But the Romans were crueler, harsher. Venus is love and beauty to the extreme, with a revenge streak a mile wide. A nightmare dressed like a daydream, as Taylor Swift so astutely put it.
Must include:
Reason why they were selected for/decided to join the institute: She was selected for the institute because her intelligence had put her miles ahead of everyone around her. She had first caught the eye of the institute at 14, when she flawlessly passed all the standardized tests to get into college. The decision to admit her to Blackthorne was made right after she obtained a BA in computer sci and started to study to practice law and take the state bar, at 16 Cameron decided to go to the institute because she was bored.
Reason why the chosen house suits them best: Intelligence is not the first thing one would think of when thinking of Cameron. Her beauty, her cruelness, those are the things that come in mind, but it is because she has constructed her image that way. There was a bit of debate where she could be placed because of the contrasting parts of her personality. Her ability to hide things about her, to create a facade for herself gave rise to the idea that she could be in Gnosis. Her controlling, meticulative, and manipulative tendencies had the school leaning towards Archon. But Phronesis won in the end, because hidden behind the pretty face was a brain that can do advanced Physics in it’s sleep. This was a fact so well hidden by her that even the executives at the Blackthorne were not able to find it at first. Technology is Cameron’s bitch and she could probably detonate all the nuclear devices in the world with just a laptop. Her real talent is the ways she can think of every angle and on many different planes.
This just needs to be long enough for you to get your character across
PARA SAMPLE
The whole day, Ollie had been nervous. She had woken up at the bright an early time of 5 am in order to catch the bus that would take her to the city. That bus ride had been agony for her. A million thoughts had been racing through her head, but mostly all about what she would find out at the mental health expert’s office. Ollie didn’t know how she was going to handle what ever Dr. Singh told her.
And now she was here. Left leg bouncing uncontrollably and hands clenched tightly together to stop them from trembling, she waited, surrounded by magazines talking about mental health. The seconds ticked by as she watched the clock, waiting for her name to be called. Finally, she was, and taking a deep breath, she walked unsteadily to her fate.
Once inside, she said her hellos and the doctor started to ask questions. She was a nice lady, 5’2” with curly black hair, and her whole vibe calmed Ollie down a little. Even then, Ollie answered the questions in monotone, preparing herself for the final verdict.
For two hours, the doctor’s analysis took place. Two hours of Ollie answering questions, doing various tests, and chewing her lip. Finally, when Ollie was exhausted and about ready to break down crying, Dr. Singh nodded her head, and looked up.
"Ollie hun, do you have your parents or guardians here today with you?" Ollie shook her head no, thinking of her parents back in Virginia. "How about a friend? This news may be hard to hear alone." Shaking her head again, Ollie wished the doctor would just get on with it. "Alright honey, it is what you thought. You have Dissociative Identity Disorder, also called Multiple Personality Disorder." Ollie numbly nodded, taking it in.
Dr. Singh continued to tell her more about her disease. When she got to way how to treat it, Ollie perked up, listening harder. The visit was wrapping up but Ollie didn’t feel any better. She now knew what it was, but gaining control of it would be a hard and slow path. Ollie hadn’t told the doctor about the homicidal tendencies or thief like abilities of her other personalities, because a mental hospital was the last place she would find answers.
Ollie needed to go back to the start, because this hadn’t just come out of nowhere. It was time for Ollie to confront her parents. Time to go back to the farm.
