I am minding my own bussines, listening to Come on Eileen on repeat when it hits me like a demolition ball. Mare and Cal were just a pair of kids goofing around, just being happy and silly in those dancing lessons, yet untainted with the death that both of them would experience and inflict upon the world, and unburdened with the horrors of war. AND still it was impossible for them to be truly together at that point because they were in such a messed up society and they were on opposite sides of the ideological spectrum, in which they both had important parts to play. So only after they go through hell and have destroyed themselves in the process, only then they can create something that’s meant to last...fuck

Will we ever be done paying?
