when they were teenagers, elane was the only person eve was comfortable opening up to about her feelings regarding the court and her future
eve doesn’t tend to voice her affection verbally in a grand / elaborate way because nobody in her family did it growing up, but she often shows her love through small gestures
if elane is tired or stressed, eve will do extra tasks / chores even after a busy day so that elane can rest
eve isn’t great at cooking but she would also order elane’s favorites from a place near their montfort home
when eve is stressed or upset, elane would play comforting music they both like and sit with her. sometimes eve feels like talking and sometimes she doesn’t, but she’s always comforted by elane’s presence
their engagement and wedding rings were rather simple because elane knew eve didn’t want super large + elaborate metal jewelry that made her constantly aware of her ability.
on the other hand, the simple rings were a small, grounding reminder that they would always be there for each other

Obviously, she'd be devastated, and frozen in shock, spending a few days in denial before making a wreck of her room. I imagine she'd channel her rage into Training, but make far more mistakes than usual. Maybe she'd rebound with Mare? Like she'd pick a fight with her until she agreed to duel her and let's just assume she and Cal are in a rough patch and have kinda broken up for the time being. I imagine it wouldn't last long, tho. She'd be turning over everything she'd done in her mind, trying to find the place she'd gone wrong. And then they'd work it out, and come back all the stronger for it
