I almost shat my pants i swear to god, because I had to check my student portal to make sure that I was set to move in two weeks from now, not six days, and I was right, turns out they sent me an email with the wrong date and I almost started scream crying.

Yesterday I read a very disturbing online article claiming that a large percentage of students at Cal State schools are failing their classes. If they don’t fail they withdraw. Two of the main reasons are they can’t keep up with the reading and they aren’t well-organized. The saddest part of the piece was the highest percentage failing were African American and Latino students. After surviving two weeks during the on-site LAUSD learning as a Special Education Instructional Assistant, I can clearly see what the problem is and why it becomes a problem later. The problem is they don’t know when they’re at school they’re there to learn, not talk back to teachers and others trying to help them, follow the rules to the letter, and embrace the lessons they’re being taught.
