How to Make A Coping Kit / Calm Box
I really havent seen a post on here yet about it, but when I was inpatient, they taught us to make this and it’s super helpful! So here we go!
Basically, it’s a box full of helpful things to help you cope through panic or anxiety. Pull it out when you feel the bad feelings coming on, and it should help you avoid a panic or anxiety attack.
You’ll need:
A shoebox or a box of similar size
Calming things / small comfort items
Stickers, glitter glue, paint, whatever you want to decorate your box (optional)
So here’s my example. First I got a shoe box, and I decorated it a little bit.
Then I gathered some things that I felt personally would help me. This varies from person to person, but here’s what I included in mine:
A small journal and a pen
Envelopes full of lists coping skills and relapse prevention plans
A worry stone (which i forgot to include in the picture below)
A card as well as an envelope full of cards and notes I’ve recieved from special people in my life
Candles
Two books that I don’t read often except for when I need cheering up
A big square puzzle
A small cat figure and a paper swan someone made me
Moisturizing ointment, scented lip balm, and lotion samples
Cards with info about meditation and anxiety (I got them along with my order from Calming Kits on Etsy)
Then I organized them neatly in my box so that I can pull it out when I need cheering up or calming down!
hope this idea helps someone <3
Motivational Monday
Hola, I am just about to graduate college (this Saturday) so I took the weekend off to spend time with the main one and relax. But, today is Monday! The beginning of the week! So we have to start it off right with a Motivational Monday! Let’s get this week headed in the right direction! First, I wanna share a picture with you all. Above, is a crocheted infinity scarf in the process using my own…

I made myself a "calm box" because I've got a lot of tests in my classes tomorrow, and I tend to get really stressed out during those.
Basically it just contains a few personal comforting items (a piece of my favourite cloth, a little cat pendant, a pack of gum, some notecards to write/draw on, a small string of beads, etc...) in a discreet little note-card box, so if I get jittery/stressed out I have something to help calm me down a bit.
