Ok so FULL DISCLOSURE I actually liked Winona a lot?? Like obvs I'm so completely ride or die for Ava (not just for Raylan cos tbh He Didn't Deserve Her) but I did actually like Winona a lot as a character and I understood what Raylan saw in her and I respected that she did try with him, clearly a few times. I feel like Raylan is a Gift for a person who wants a project but all the things you allegedly would want to "fix" in him to stick it out long term are also the same things most attractive and charming about him. I think Winona had an idea of how life would be being his partner (and he also made promises to her that he obviously couldn't keep) and he also saw her as the person worth leaving it behind for but at the end of the day he can't not be who he is and she can't live in that kind of environment and they both kind of fail to meet each other's expectations. Honestly though, I was rooting for them until the very end. When they got together that last time before the finale I was like Yes, Please, maybe you can do it after all, but surprise, they couldn't, but it's basically (probably?) for the best.

I also don't really understand why the fandom hated her so much. As disappointed as I was over their last romp if only just for the fact that I felt jerked around as a viewer, that's hardly on her. (I mean I do know why they hated her and imo it wouldn't have mattered what she did or didn't do..........but whatever.)

How I feel about this character: Honestly, in my view he’s less of a character and more of a... circumstance? Force? There was some post that I cannot find now, in which it was argued that the novel Dracula is not called after the main character but after what the characters have to deal with, like Jaws (it must’ve been worded better, but such was the gist). He’s interesting in a sense that he represents a multitude of things, from xenophobic scare to homophobic stereotypes (specifically, how the society viewed Oscar Wilde at the time of his trial and what Bram Stoker was afraid to be associated with and possibly feared in himself) to the fear of contagious illnesses to, yes, unrestricted sexuality (but not only!) to god knows what else, so I find him fascinating as a concept, but don’t particularly care about him as a character. 

All the people I ship romantically with this character: nahhh no one. I can see the appeal of Dracula/Van Helsing but only in the context of crack fic, not seriously yet.  

My non-romantic OTP for this character: I like to think that he and his brides have this relationship in which whatever passion that had ever been there is long gone and they’re sorta tired of him but also where else would they go, so they’re, like, roommates who lowkey find each other annoying and get passive aggressive about petty shit 

My unpopular opinion about this character: the idea of Dracula/Mina is sooo far-fetched because there’s no attraction between them in the book, it’s just him wanting to: 1) get her out of his way because she’s ruining his plans; 2) get her on his side (“You have aided in thwarting me; now you shall come to my call”); 3) hurt the men of the Crew of Light and also get closer to them (“Your girls that you all love are mine already; and through them you and others shall yet be mine”). If it is absolutely necessary for an adaptation to make Dracula involved romantically/sexually with anyone, then the most logical candidate is Jonathan, what with “This man belongs to me!” followed by “Yes, I too can love” and with Jonathan essentially being Bluebeard’s wife for the first part of his chapters.
