expression flashes into sarcastic humor, brows up and smile lilting fake. “hilarious. you must be a clown.” manufactured demeanor drops away as his brow furrows thoughtfully, leaning back to get a look at her quasi costume, the paint stretching over her cheeks. “no, wait, you’re... a rat?” now this smirk is real. “you going trick or treating in that?”

“  what  the  fuck  are  you  doing  here?  “  he  makes  no  effort  with  an  introduction  before  he  gets  to  the  point,  arms  crossed  over  jagged  chest.  no,  no  time  for  softness  when  his  head  is  full  with  millions  of  thoughts.  what  are  the  odds  the  two  would  transfer  to  the  same  school  in  result  of  the  incident  ?  does  she  even  know  who  he  is  ?  figures  she  wouldn't.  only  saw  each-other  once  or  twice  in  passing.  “  do  you  know  who  i  am  ?  “

“noah taylor,” jay answers, twisting his hand to get a better look at the healed scar rippling across the skin of his knuckles. he looks back to callie, gaze filled with deadpanned humor. “dude’s got a helluva sharp jaw.” smirk cracks his demeanor and he grabs for her hand, turns it over in his grasp. “lemme guess, you don’t have one scar on your body.” brows quirk playful. “too much of a princess to have done anything that would leave a mark.”

“yeah, well, most people can’t be happy with what they already got,” sean shrugs, briefly pessimistic. it’s a backwards thinking he’s slipping back into. there was always a lack of determination in sean, mostly due to a lack of goals. not like he’d ever reach anything anyway. people like him don’t. except... he’s really trying to undo that. shrugs off any self doubt. “i dunno, guess it depends what they’re looking for.” a pause, then he offers a sidelong glance, brow lifting with his lips. mildly curious if not vaguely teasing. “what are you looking for?”

which is kind of the reason for her being here. alex is an increasingly active member of the degrassi school community, despite everyone’s (and her own) doubts. that means roping in the newbies and outcasts into partaking, especially considering the past year’s events. “and i was being serious -- you’d be great for the next lead in the play... considering how you already walk around like you’re the main character.” she couldn’t possibly serve a compliment without a side of insult. alex rolls her eyes. “jt and liberty are writing it. some coming of age thing, whatever. i want you to audition.”

“cut the crap, cal. there’s nobody around to act all high-and-mighty for,” eric muses. he’s not particularly bothered by being snowed in—at least he’s missing the family dinner he’s been dreading. “i bet you’ve been dreaming of this.”

"oh, wow. haha. yeah, that's a very interesting thing to say unprompted—and as we're surrounded by buildings with very large icicles." jt laughs nervously, casually shifting away from callie. "these buildings with very large icicles probably have very high definition security cameras though..."

chin dipped downward, jay’s eyes glint wicked beneath his brow. “you know i’m not allowed on school property.” and it is a fine line. he stands at the curb, looking up at her on the steps of his old campus. never even wanted to touch a toe back into the godforsaken place ‘til right now. callie’s question is undeniably a dare though and jay can’t bear to fold to it. one foot crosses the invisible boundary as he pulls her swiftly by the wrist, catches her around the waist. nose is aligned close to her’s, forehead to forehead, but he doesn’t kiss her. just pivots to carry her off, his grin just a breath away. “nah, i’m just gonna take you.”
