Necromancy, Nightmares and Cryptid for Calignos!
Necromancy
What are their views on death? Undeath? Immortality?
Immortality tastes so bittersweet for a creature of nightmares.
You bear witness to the greatest atrocities that bugs are prone to doing, manifesting themselves as kings and queens and gods among mortals. They are posing themselves as what they are not, and it is only the oldest and most ancient of gods that can truly see through the miniscule cracks and flaws. Gods, even, are not immortal--but Calignos' memory has been scattered like dust, so fine that it will never truly be removed or snuffed out. So he will never truly die, even if he fails to be transferred to the next vessel.
And yet it is empty. And yet in immortality, he has seen many bugs that his vessels have loved been loved in turn by the ones he inhabits, and he has come to love and seen them die and mourn and love again. He forgets himself more often than not, but he knows this for a fact--that death is necessary, but beautiful in its own way.
That is why he and his vessels travel across the world, extending their reach through distant wastes. That is why whenever they find land that has come to be thin and shallow, where kingdoms have freshly fallen and hemolymph and chitin runs thick in the dirt, they work to cleanse these lands of this death. Like a controlled fire burning in a forest, what will regrow will be lush and filled with life, fertilized by soot and cleared of clutter and death.
Life will be reborn again.
And what is rebirth if not undeath?
Nightmares
If they had a chariot leading them through their universe’s version of Hell, what animal or creature would be pulling them?
Hell is a world of one's own making. To some, the Nightmare Realm is hell, even though its original intention was not to incite fear or agony, but to help process the root behind these emotions and burn it away. Calignos is fed by these nightmares, but he does not create them so much as bear witness to the atrocities and simple fears of the world.
But the Nightmare Realm is--more or less--quiet. And perhaps that constitutes as a hell in and of itself.
So with that being said, what chariot would Calignos have that would guide him across the Nightmare Realm?
The question is invalid. Calignos is alone in this realm, and the world is bent as he sees fit. There is no need for a chariot, so he would not ever manifest one to ride.
Cryptid
Which cryptid or urban legend best represents your muse?
The Black Bird of Chernobyl.
