Ok, so things make a lot more sense now (if that was really possible, given the way this plot is playing out). It's been revealed what SBURB is (but not how it came to be), where John has been sent to, and the overall 'goal'... At least, part of it :| John's mission is clear enough for now.
Also: Jeeeeeze, the world is ending. I guess that day wasn't so long afterall :| (Though, technically the day is now endless because John is in a realm removed from time. But, technicalities aside).

I'm so glad I'm reading this comic now as opposed to when it came out a few years ago. I would have missed so many of these jokes and references I'm not even kidding.
