The beloved cookie is delightfully twisted with Snickerdoodle Donuts. These tender, cake-like doughnuts are infused with nutmeg and cinnamon before being dipped in a sugary cinnamon mixture. These are the ideal breakfast treat or anytime you're in the mood for something nostalgic.
Ingredients: 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour. 1/2 cup granulated sugar. 2 tsp baking powder. 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon. 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg. 1/4 tsp salt. 1/2 cup milk. 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted. 1 large egg. 1 tsp vanilla extract.
Instructions: Preheat your oven to 350F 175C and grease a donut pan. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix. Spoon the batter into a piping bag or a Ziploc bag with the corner cut off, and pipe it into the greased donut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into a donut comes out clean. While the donuts are baking, prepare the cinnamon sugar coating. In a shallow bowl, mix together 1/2 cup granulated sugar and 1 tsp ground cinnamon. Once the donuts are done baking, remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly in the pan for a few minutes. While the donuts are still warm, carefully remove them from the pan and roll each one in the cinnamon sugar mixture to coat them evenly. Serve the Snickerdoodle Donuts warm and enjoy!
