08/20/21 - Cairo, Egypt - CAIRO AT NIGHT - We’re here for a couple of days to see the sights in Cairo before we fly to Luxor to start our Nile River cruise. Cairo is a hopping place at night and would be very competitive in a ‘city that never sleeps’ contest. We arrived here around 2 AM and couldn’t believe the traffic and all the people still out on the street: especially on the river bridges. Maybe it’s because it’s so hot during the day that people schedule their outdoor activity at night or maybe it’s because they love to party on the weekend. The Nile River can be pretty active with nighttime party boats as well. This is the view from our hotel room. Mesmerizing.
