This study is focused on determining soil morphological, physical and chemical properties of major rice areas in Cagayan province, Philippines that aimed to serve as a reference for identifying crop production constraints and defining appropriate management options for rice and other crops in the province. Representative pedons were investigated from the major rice municipalities in the province. Morphological properties of soils were investigated in situ. Soil samples were taken and analyzed for their chemical and physical properties. Ten soil series were tested and identified as Alaminos (Typic Kanhaplustult), Bantay (Typic Eutrustept), Buguey (Typic Ustipsamment), Carig (Typic Eutrustept), Isabela (Vertic Tropaquept), Quingua (Typic Epiaqualf), San Fernando (Ustic Endoaquert), San Manuel (Fluventic Eutrudept), Sta. Rita (Typic Epiaqualf), and Toran (Vertic Tropaquent).
