The rules will be the same as always:

Round 1: 12oz Latte Bowls (Design will be drawn per pairing)

Round 2: 6oz Cappuccino Cups (Design will be drawn per pairing)

All Other Rounds: 6oz Cappuccino Cups (Design will be drawn per pairing)

What a great day for the Downtown Edmond Open House event! High of 65, sunny and management wind.  The only thing that would make it better is if you stopped by and grabbed a hand brewed coffee, latte or cappuccino to go along with you.

Specialty Coffee for weddings isn't new to us.  We've been doing it since 2005.  When we talk with couples about how a coffee bar makes perfect since for the reception, we typically talk about how you don't want to leave any detail untouched and how their guests are important enough to deserve a high end coffee service. Come on, with the details that went into that cake, why serve old coffee that your guests have to get for themselves, right?  

The coffee "experts" over at Sprudge.com talk about all sorts of coffee topics and they put in their 7 cents on The Perfect Coffee Wedding! 

We couldn't agree more with all of their tips.  

It's refreshing to wake up the morning after an event that brings out all the good things in specialty coffee.  EVOKE was lucky enough to host the latest Oklahoma latte art pour down and it was a night full of community, drinking, fun and latte art!

From the Tulsa area to Dallas / Fort Worth, baristas came from everywhere to be a part of this event.  22 of them in fact packed EVOKE in Downtown Edmond on Saturday night to party!  We know it is hard to believe, but coffee culture in Oklahoma is thriving!  

Karli knocked off Steve from Elemental Coffee in OKC.. so the finals saw Karli from Coffee Slingers in OKC against Heath from EVOKE.  The random drawing for the pour came to a 6oz Rosette!  The Steve v Karli round and the Karli v Heath round were two VERY hard ones for the judges but...

HEATH takes it all!

Thanks to everyone who came out to make this a super fun event!  EVOKE will host the next pour down on August 25th, 2012 at 8:00p.  Same format as last Saturday.  More details will be published as we get closer to that date.

We love getting to take coffee to events across the state of Oklahoma.  We get to see lots of new things and serve coffee in all sorts of cool places.

While we are always open to sending one of our mobile coffee bars to your upcoming event, we would also love to host yours here at EVOKE in Downtown Edmond.  We have had several people ask about it and we finally put a package together!  Below you will find some of the details about renting EVOKE and how it all works.  If you are interested in using EVOKE for your upcoming event, give us a call and we can set up a time to meet with you about it and get a price sheet sent over!

Finally!  We have had a great time hanging with our friends at other shops pour latte art for money but we are happy to say that on the 28th of July, we will host our first ever latte art pour down here at EVOKE in Downtown Edmond.  Let's just get to the chase:

WAIT!  We forgot to mention that this is just the first of TWO (yup, 2) parties we are throwing! They are separate events but will be set up the same. So, here is the info you need to know to put it on that little calendar of yours:

Here is some of the other details competing baristas might want to know about!

**Judges will be picked from the crowd.  We will have three of them on the panel for you to present to.  Each judge will be "debriefed" before the competition begins and told to judge based on the following criteria: Symmetry, Color, Pour Volume/Fill Level, Cleanliness.

**We will have 1 barista that pulls shots for all competitors. The rounds will go like this:

Round 1 --> 12oz Rosetta Pour

Round 2 --> 6oz Tulip Pour

Round 3 and on --> 6oz Random Draw Pour (per grouping)

In the third round and beyond, each pairing will draw for the design.

**Machine to be used will be a La Marzocco Linea

**Cups will be NotNeutral 12oz Latte cups and 6oz Cappuccino cups

**In the event we need more people, we may allow "buy in's" for those that get knocked out early.  We will not know that until the bracket has been made.

We'd love to have you guys come hang and pour with us this month and next!  We will have $2.00 PBRs all night and will have the comp streaming on the TV above the bar so that everyone can see!
