Character Development Questions

34. Is your character more likely to keep trying a solution/method that didn’t work the first time, or immediately move on to a different solution/method?

[[On the job, he’s pretty flexible although he’s pretty much developed his preferred methods to use Catch the Rainbow. He’s gotten creative with it in the past and has tried things like suffocating the target by filling their nose and mouth with rain, but while it’s a method that leads to minimal clean-up, it’s just much too time-consuming and impractical so he’s stopped trying to be too needlessly fancy in favor of being efficient.

Performing hits is risky business, you don’t muck about, because you might end up being seen, or worse, dead. If something doesn’t work or doesn’t work well enough, out it goes.

Acts of Affection

❃  Mussing their hair or tugging at their clothes (a hat, sleeve, etc.)

  Having his ponytail tugged on wasn't exactly an unusual occurrence in his day to day life. Someone had apparently decided it was an appropriate way to get Blackmore's attention and others had followed suit. Too busy scanning today's paper for the weather forecast — clear skies, of course, just his luck — his initial reaction was to wave a slightly annoyed hand at the intrusion, with a distracted, “So-rry… just a moment, please…”

Kakyoin is a man who does not easily forgive slights. His pride is too vast, too easily bruised for that.

That’s not to say he doesn’t try to approach them with civility when they arise. No, he’s polite to a fault, even with those who do not deserve it. It’s simply that he can’t pardon someone who has wronged him unless he truly feels they understand what they have done.

But Dio. Nothing in this world could ever exonerate Dio. Not for his crimes against humanity, certainly; but even more than that, for his crimes against Kakyoin’s sense of worth.

Facing him down after all that is one of the hardest things he will ever do, but he welcomes the challenge. Or so he thinks.

He gets too bold. Too eager to prove his maturity and newfound willpower. On a cool desert night in January, days before he is prepared to meet up with his friends, he finds himself back on the streets of Cairo. Like his first visit there he travels alone but for his Hierophant, letting muscle memory guide him through alleys and around corners. He knows he cannot win alone where strength is involved; but perhaps his wits can give him the upper hand.

The minutes find him before the hulking stone gates of a mansion with which he is far too familiar. The breath passing his lips is raw and clouds in the air as he cranes his head up toward one of its two towers--where, he knows, he is being looked down upon.

walks these days were something of a salvation. when she was left alone at home, all the stress & pain of loneliness would build. but when she went for a walk --- she choose to be alone & escape from it, venturing into a path beside the park & choosing to forget.

forget the dull expression on kosaku’s face --- like he was looking through her. like she wasn’t a person or wasn’t real. forget the indifference inherited in her son, who seldom looked or spoke to her. 

it made her feel like a failure of a woman & mother, & so she ventured out with a look of disinterest. utter unsatisfied with the hand she had been dealt --- but then something caught her eyes, giving a spark in her that rarely existed.

a rose--- she had ventured through this path a thousand times & never once saw a rose. a rare smile moving to shinobu’s lips & as she grew closer she realized there were more. a clearing utterly filled with roses it looked like a sea of red.

& there stood shinobu, her eyes wide in awe with the most life in them she had in years.
