Shooting in Red Hook. Cacao Prieto was founded in 2009 by Daniel Prieto Preston, an inventor and aerospace engineer, whose family has been farming organic cacao in the Dominican Republic for more than 100 years. Pablo's great grandfather, Esteban Prieto Casas, immigrated from Spain in 1898 to come to New York. but on the way stopped in the Dominican Republic and there he fell in love with Carmen Buenaventura. Eight kids and numerous sugar cane and cacao plantations later, a family business was born.
