The first wind farm self propelled tending barge just off of Block Island, Rhode Island. This video shows one of the massive thrusters being lifted. This barge can self station keep to within 2 meters in a 28 knot wind, with a 9 knot current. I only say that because I was onboard when it did it. It will lay the first length of electrical/fiber optic cable in both a 24 mile run, then a 9 mile run. This will make block Island the first offshore wind farm built in the USA.
