Fiften text messages, about fifty missed calls, twenty voicemails That’s what she came back to once she was able to get cell phone service. About ten voicemail messages were from Conner and knew that she was in hot water with him.
Gwen knew that she had done wrong by not telling Kon that she was leaving for her Earth and she felt bad. She gave him a small smile, knowing that she had a long way to make it up to him.
She was wearing her spider suit, her mask was in her pocket and her hood down while she stood in front of him. The wind was blowing her hair in the wind, making it a bit chilly but she was fine. “Look, I-” She started to say but then she closed her mouth and then her eyes, taking a minute to gather her thoughts. She reopened them, to notice him staring at her, waiting for her to speak and she let out a breath. “Im, sorry that I didn’t tell you that I was going back home.” She bit down on her bottom lip nervously and started to pick at her suit before she let out another breath. “Its just, with everything going on right now, I just figured you would’ve been too busy to notice that I was gone?” She offered him an explanation, hoped that he was buying it and hoped that she didn’t destroy their friendship.
She paused a bit before she kissed his cheek. She brushed past him, placed her mask back on, pulled up her hoodie before she jumped off a building, having the sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach. Which, she prayed that she could push aside and focused on swinging.
Once she was on another rooftop, she noticed him, still standing there and watching her.“Im sorry, Kon.” She said softly before she started to swing again and ignored the feeling her heartbreaking. She hated the fact that she didn’t tell him, but she figured the more people she told him about going back home, he might have stopped her.
