Lorna hesitated, looking over at Daisy. The last time the pair had spoken had been a short text after the blackout. That wasn’t what Daisy was referring to here, was it? Lorna didn’t recall running into Daisy, but she didn’t recall much clearly from that ordeal. But maybe Daisy wasn’t even talking about that. Something else entirely. Lorna could only hope. “What violence?” she asked.

“Thank you again for taking the time to meet with me.” Nia grinned at Daisy as she put two coffees down on the table and took a seat across from her. “Do you mind if I record this?” she asked, pulling a small recorder from her bag. That way she could pay closer attention to Daisy herself and not worry about taking notes the whole time. “I’m really interested to hear about this Second Chance Initiative from someone who’s actually part of it.”
