“you’re late” he spoke from behind his piano, the words echoed through the empty auditorium. his mom had convinced him to help with the school play, said it’d help him get into juliard, failed to mention that bridget was in the play. “did you look over the sheet music?” he had written most of the music, and even though they ended things, he still valued her opinion when it came to his music. 

“If I die, split my things between you and Maika.”

“That dress looks like a reindeer threw up all over it. Try again.”
