“I’ve heard that your family is in town, how are you holding up?” She asked, a kind smile on her lips. “I’m sure it can’t be easy seeing all of them again.”

“So, have you come as a Lamia, or as one of the Volturi.” Ayla asked as her eyes narrowed at her estranged cousin, wondering what her answer would be. It still hurt the girl to know that one of her own family, no matter what their father might have thought of them, would go against their family in such a way, joining another coven. The Volturi at that.

“Never in my four thousand years of life have I ever seen anything more nauseating.” Damen said as he saw his daughter, his own flesh and blood, exiting the Volturi’s home. He had hoped that the rumors were false, that someone was playing a good joke on him, which he would have appreciated, but no. It was no laughing matter. His own child was one of his family’s enemies. He wasn’t going to stand for it. He might have been a distant father for, well always, but this was something that he was not going to let slide. “Atalanta Lamia, enough of this.”
