#onefromthecuttingroomfloor: Charlotte cleaning her chalkboard several months ago. I'm starting to miss home. I am very much enjoying my training AND (not but) it will be a joyous time when we get to settle back in and apply some of the principles I am learning in our home. It's not just teacher training. It's an education for life. ❤️

Serious chats with Sam before bed. Every few weeks as I'm tucking her in she tells me, "Sam can stop by and give me a hug and kiss." And when he does it's just so special. Lots of kissing owies and reminders to be careful with knives (guess who is lecturing who lol)

This poem has been Charlotte's favorite since the first time we read it. She asks for it every night. Her favorite parts are "cracked his manger," "raised such a rumpus," and "a great big fellow" (clearly Ernest the elephant is a favorite). We have just about read every poem in this book. We will continue to enjoy it for years to come but I'm sensing that she's ready for even more. Thanks to you all I have several to choose from. 😊

There many valuable skills involved in playing games together: choosing a game, retrieving and carrying it, opening the box, setting it up, taking turns and waiting, practicing gentleness in handling the pieces, language building, cooperation, putting away the pieces, closing the box, carrying the box back to where it is stored, and often choosing another game. Let alone the actual objectives of the game (matching and remembering in this case). So many skills. Right now it is such a rewarding process for her. She loves working through each step. On top of it all its a wonderful bonding experience for us.i highly recommend seeking out age-appropriate games for the toddler crowd. Very well worth it. I found this particular game via @howwemontessori. Thanks again to @montessoricarrie for her many recommendations as well.
