criticizing endo beliefs that have embedded themselves, partially and wholly, in anti-endo cdd communities is hard bc the second you point them out, someone will come out of the woodworks to go "well MY system works well with that idea so it CANT have endo origins and be based in dangerous misinformation. this is FAKECLAIMING and ENTIRELY WRONG."
like hey. lets take a breath.
misinformation is a plague no one is exempt from. when i point this stuff out, it comes from the perspective of someone who also fell for it at one point. i also had to unlearn things about systems. it was painful, but i had to do it so i could actually recover instead of continue on a subtle-decline water-tread.
the reason endo-originating misinformation seems to work well with cdd systems is because said misinformation fulfills the logic of cdds- to protect the mind from trauma. it increases dissociation, buries memories, disrupts the perception of reality- fundamentally preventing trauma from being meaningfully addressed. it "protects." its another layer of prevention.
and i will admit. there is a place for that prevention. you cant meaningfully address trauma while still in a traumatic situation. i cant be upset with people for relying on this endo-originating misinformation because it is a survival bid (that does work, in the sense of "the option is this or something far worse"). but that doesnt mean the misinformation should be lauded as true by the wider cdd community just because someone needs to hold onto a belief in order to endure a little longer.
