@blitzherzen .
the match had ended a while ago and most everyone had cleared out of the arena, but shaxx offloaded future matches into the different arenas around the system just in case. it was rare that something like this happened, rare but still something he had some experience in - a forced exhaustion born of grief, fear, whatever it made a guardian stress to the point of being a danger even to their fellows.
but shaxx can’t step in the middle of a match, not even he can handle the fury of raw light, potent and concentrated and steeped in grief. so he waited. and when he could approach the burnt out exo, he waited still, patient and silent. it wasn’t hard to find him, he stayed in the same corner the whole match once shaxx saw him reach his breaking point - fled into a crumbling building and stayed there, arc snapping at any who saw him as an easy target.
it’s quiet now, broken only by the sound of shaxx’s boots on rubble. he kneels before the exo, keeping a respectful distance, helmet tucked away, “ there won’t be other matches here for today, so take your time. i’m here to make sure you get home safe once you’re ready to leave. ”
