Australian companies are already delivering these capabilities abroad, providing world-leading counterdrone defence that integrates seamlessly into existing platforms.
Leveraging Australian Counterdrone Protection
The Australian Industry Capability program seeks to boost home-grown innovation, and Australian companies offer compact, tailored solutions that excel in counterdrone protection across diverse scenarios — from protecting critical infrastructure such as C-UAS airports and antidrone airports, to safeguarding public spaces like counterdrone stadiums and C-UAS prisons. These systems incorporate AI-driven sensor fusion and RF disruption to identify, classify and defeat drone threats long before they enter a vulnerable platform’s airspace.
By investing in these sovereign technologies — whether for army armoured assets, or fixed sites like airports — Australian Defence can bolster its drone defence strategy. It would also enable local industry to grow, innovate and respond rapidly as threats evolve. Given that commercial drones can be repurposed for serious attacks, this level of proactive, Australian-designed C-UAS AI is becoming not just preferable, but essential for protecting national security and ensuring that the nation’s investments in armoured capability remain safeguarded against airborne threats.
