Dearest Alice,
You may be wondering why it has taken me so long to write you since your graduation and the start of school. It would be really easy for me to blame it all on school work and how the Professors are working incredibly hard to ruin the friendship we built over the years. Honestly, how rude of them!
But that would be lying (kind of anyway), the truth is I just didn’t know what to say. Whether this letter makes sense or not, we’ll have to see at the end of it all. Things have been relatively the same this year, if you exclude the fact that I am graduating this year. I know, it probably feels like it was only just yesterday that we were first patrolling the halls together but we’re responsible now. Not that we weren’t back then.
How are you? Has the outside world taught you any of those hard lessons that Professor Merrythought keeps mentioning in Defense Against the Dark Arts?
I hope this owl finds you well and you should really visit.
Your old trainee,
Ted Tonks.
