Samar Navabi would never say this, but she was worried about Red. Nor would she say that she considered him her friend. But whether she did or not, both of those things were completely true. So with slightly shaking fingers, she dialed the number he always used and held it to her ear (after checking that her line wasn't being tapped of course).

Red halted mid-sip, lowering the glass with casual dismissiveness as his eyebrows rose in an almost exasperated gesture. Honestly, it had become surprisingly difficult to get a quiet moment to himself since he’d approached the FBI. He almost missed the days of utter solitude.
