As a force of habit having grown strong over the years, Cade was always acutely aware of his surroundings. It was not often hat anything caught him off guard, keeping sights on people in his periphery, always having his back towards a wall, making sure never to be too focused on reading something while in a public place. They were paranoid habits build from his time in service, but they served him well. Like now, when he couldn’t help but focus his attention in on a curly haired man at the other end of the store. Something about the shaggy man seemed familiar, and his mind raced as he tried to put his finger on it. Still thinking, he moved in closer, making sure his curiosity did not show on in his gaze as he tapped the man on the shoulder. Perhaps his voice would strike the cord. “Excuse me, sir. Do you happen to know how to get to the post office from here?” of course it was a pointless question to which he already knew the answer, but it didn’t matter. He was simply trying to put together the mental puzzle as quickly as possible.Â
