jimmy is a fallen angel of death and his lore is based on his canary thing as well as his hunger games thing
although he has fallen he can still see ppl's death but not as strongly as before (he can only see them when theyre right in front of him a few mins before their deaths, too late to do anything)
still an omen of death tho L
fallen can be either angels or demons and refers to the fact that their link to their respective patrons has been damaged or severed
there are many reasons this can happen, in jimmy's case he got cursed by the watchers
lizzie, mumbo, and skizz work for the watchers
the watchers in this are based exclusively on the ones from martyn's last life lore, not the ones from evo
angels and demons both devour life essences but angels generally wait until after they die and preserve the soul while demons generally just kinda do whatever they want
impulse is one of the kinder demons, he waits until someone dies before devouring their essence and will even keep their soul safe til then
unfortunately he doesnt know how to preserve souls so he tries to have as many contracts as he can so he can take just a bit of life essence from each soul and basically padding out their soul's life span as much as he can until he can figure out how to preserve souls since angel and demon magic works differently
although angels and demons are different species, they can take on each other's patrons but their power is lessened (by how much depends on the person)
bdubs very much summoned impulse for the sole purpose of mugging him

Sure, technically speaking Tango's shift is done for the day, but the moment his communicator pings saying "All hands" or calls for any personnel in an area where he currently is then it's back to work he goes.
He's currently in their locker room, bag all ready packed with his stuff, just waiting for his friends to finish arguing.
"I AM NOT SHORT! I AM AVERAGE HEIGHT!" Bdoubleo screeched and Tango couldn't help but giggle – Bdubs was one of the shortest men among the staff, just a centimeter under Tango, not the shortest but certainly the most reactionary.
"Hmm I don't know Bdubs, that's not what the records say," Etho, one of the tallest men among the staff, teased lightheartedly. He was always wearing a mask, nobody except Bdubs knew why and he had a different answer every time – Tango's personal favorite is the one he got the one time he asked a long long time ago, "He's an eldritch entity and needs the mask so the rest of us don't go die and insane."
"Aw come on you guys cut it out," Skizzleman... the four of them were frequently sent together with Skizz being the de facto leader and it wasn't hard to see why: Tango, Bdubs, and Etho together bring nothing but chaos but Skizz somehow manages to keep a hold of them and actually manages to make them somewhat organized, "Look, Tango Tek's just been sitting there, waiting for forever now."
"Aw it's alright, not like I need to sleep or anything like that—" Tango shrugged lightheartedly before his playful smirk turned into a mock-angry frown, "—also stop calling me that."
"Aw Tango I'm sorry!" Skizz cried out, "Not for the nickname though."
Tango just shook his head and smiled, "You're all idiots."
"You're an idiot!" Bdubs yelled.
"Never said I wasn't."
"Uhhh guys, for real this time, we should get going it's getting dark," Skizz glanced at Tango with Etho and Bdubs following suit.
"Ooh yeah we should probably get going now," Etho said as he packed the rest of his things.
"Ah, yeah, hate the dark," Bdubs said as he put on his hoodie of living moss.
Although there is truth in what Bdubs said, their main concern was of Tango's safety, which couldn't help but make the man chuckle.
He was the only human in their whole department, the Supernatural Emergency Rescue Alliance Snowforte Department, a nonprofit organization of volunteers who rescue people from supernatural happenings. Due to its dangerous, traumatic, and nonlucrative nature, it's not the most popular job prospect for most ordinary people, Tango however was not like most ordinary people...and neither were his former workmates.
Even the tiniest of mistakes could mean the end (or worse) for them in this kind of job, especially when they don't have any sort of magical ability or physical prowess to make up for it.
For now, however, Tango was sitting in the back of Skizz’ pickup truck, staring out the shotgun window as Etho and Bdubs bicker in the passenger seat. The bumps in the road getting more and more frequent the further from the main town they go.
Half an hour later, Bdubs and Etho already left ten minutes ago and now they’ve arrived at Skizz’ house located right outside a dense forest.
“Welp,” Skizz hesitated, “We’re here.”
“Yep, thanks man,” Tango smiled, about to hop off when Skizz stopped him.
“Wait, Tango,” Skizz looked at the night sky nervously, “Are you sure you want me to drop you off here? I can take you all the way home y’know?”
“Yeah, I know,” Tango chuckled lightly, “Don’t wanna risk you getting stuck though, need to get to work tomorrow remember?” he joked.
Skizz hummed, clearly disapproving, “Ok…I trust you, just don’t forget to send a signal when something feels wrong, okay?”
“I will, Skizz,” Tango reassured and hopped off.
“Bye Tango!” Skizz yelled after him.
“Bye Skizz!” Tango waved, lantern in his other hand, crossbow ready at his hip, and all evidence of modern technology shutting off as he walked towards the inky dark forest. Perhaps it wasn’t a wise idea to live where he does, and honestly Skizz probably wouldn’t mind having a new roommate, but he never claimed to be a wise man and so he continued walking.
The trees sway in the silent breeze.
It was quiet, nothing but Tango’s heartbeat and the crunch of dry leaves beneath his feet could be heard. It was freezing cold so perhaps if his teeth weren’t already occupied biting his bottom lip then perhaps Tango would hear them clatter as well.
It was dark, so dark that it almost hurt to look around.
The journey should take around twenty minutes total given that he follows the path he’s got memorized and Tango estimates that fifteen more minutes of walking would get him home safe. It was still 6:37 PM according to Tango’s pocket watch but as much as he’d like to hurry it up, doing so would most likely result in him getting lost or worse.
After a few more minutes of slightly terrifying but mainly mind-numbing walking, Tango hears a sound – a faint sound but a sound nonetheless.
“…oh god.” Tango thought.
It took all his willpower not to hurry his pace, but that sure doesn’t stop his mind from racing which repeated nothing but the words “oh god” over and over again. Tango can hear the sound, which sounds like crunching leaves, getting louder and louder and with each rising decibel he can feel his heartrate rise with it.
A hand on his shoulder, “Oh thank God –”
Tango screamed before quickly muffling his mouth before nervously looking around.
“Oh, my goodness!” exclaimed the tall blond brown-eyed man before him, “Are you al—” Tango muffled the stranger’s mouth too and aggressively signaled for him to be quiet. He took the stranger’s hand in his own and slowly lead him towards his home.
Impulse had heard of lands beyond the border, beyond the oceans, and most of all, beyond the clouds. Under the influence of several rounds of the Moonlight Tavern's Specialty Spidereye Cocktail it seemed plausible enough, but now that he was sober and lugging around a full inventory filled with rather precious and expensive items, it was starting to seem a lot more like a pipedream than anything.
"Oh, you have got to see it, man!" the mysterious Netherborne had said, "The Aether it- it's incredible! Flying blocks, mobs that you can't find on regular biomes, and it's sobeautiful!"
Perhaps he was being hasty, perhaps he was being greedy, but all Impulse could think of in that moment was taking as many strange blocks as possible and using it for his various farms.
"Hey, I don't blame ya," the blond laughed after gulping down an entire mug of the aforementioned cocktail, "I woulda done the same thing."
And so here he was now, abandoned after the man had to go on the run for...something. Impulse didn't even get his name, 'I doubt it would've helped much but it could've been something at least, ' Impulse sighed, he understood that life can get in the way of things sometimes but he had no clues to go off on aside from the various snippets that Impulse could recover from his drunken haze on that one faithful night.
"...beyond the Farlands-
"...gonna need a rocket or a plane at least-
"...can't reach with an elytra-
"...need a lot of fire and cold protection."
Not even the letter that the (probably) Blaze hybrid left behind gave any concrete clues.
"Hey man! It's your drinking buddy from last night, thanks for letting me stay the night btw. Finally didn't have to freeze in the stupid overworld for once. I know we made plans to find the Aether together and everything but I'm afraid I can't fulfill my end of the deal, I'm a bit of a wanted criminal ya see. Nothing super bad (morally speaking), mind you, but unfortunately the Sentinels don't care much for that kind of thing. If you wanna go find the Aether on your own then that's perfectly fine, just be sure to keep this book on ya just in case you end up somewhere without any respawn magic. If you're not then just keep it anyway, ya never know where life takes you, ya know? Salutations and good luck!"
Impulse initially didn't want to go on this journey at all, he liked his peace and quiet after all, but his curiousity ate at him everyday 'til he's finally had enough. He did all the research he could and pieced together as much as he could from their humble town library, and yet it still wasn't enough.
The only place left he could think to look was back to where it all started.
"Why 'ello there, the usual?" asked the bartender.
"Yes, please," Impulse sighed a heavy sigh and slumped over the counter, "And make it ice cold."
"Yes, sir."
The tavern was rather empty which wasn't much of a surprise given it was 10:15 on a Monday morning -- too late for those who drank 'til the sun rose and too early for those who drank 'til the sun set.
One of the advantages that Impulse had as an independent redstoner was the fact that he can take a vacation whenever he pleases without much worry aside from waning customers. Luckily, though known mainly locally, Impulse's customers are loyal to a fault an would not mind waiting for his eventual return (besides, he wasn't the only redstoner around town should they need help).
"Tough week, eh?" asked the ram hybrid(?) whom Impulse has been a loyal customer himself to.
"It's still Monday, Zedaph," Impulse said to him with a half exposed eye.
"And yet you're here drinkin' in the middle of the day, lookin' like some Watcher put obsidian on you," Zedaph said while brewing the concoction, "Normally you only do that when all your contraptions are failin' miserably."
Impulse snorted, "Well, you got me there."
Zedaph set down Impulse's drink in front of him, "So, you wanna talk about it or what?"
Impulse took a sip, "It's nothing really, just about to go looking for a place that may or may not even exist after my supposed-to-be-partner abandoned me."
"Oof, that's rough, buddy."
"Eh, can't really blame him," Impulse waved an unfocused hand, recalling the various stories of faceless avatars descending from the heavens to bring 'balance' to servers, "Sentinels. You know how it is ."
"Ah," Zedaph hummed, "Any clue what he did?"
"Who knows, man, could be anything," Impulse shrugged, "All he said was that it wasn't anything super bad...morally speaking, anyway."
Zedaph hummed, "How specific."
"...mmmyeah," Impulse took another sip, "Anyways, I'm not here just to drink. I'm trying to figure out where he got his information from and he seemed like a regular here so..." Impulse waved a vague hand, "Not sure how we never met, though."
"Ooh, a regular? What's his name?"
"...I don't know," Impulse confessed.
"...you don't know?" Zedaph raised a brow, "You're supposed-to-be-partners and yet you don't even know the man's name?" the cheeky blond scoffed, "...and here I thought you were a polite young man."
"Hey, I am polite!" Impulse protested, "It's just that- when you're drunk, things just. Get forgotten, y'know?"
"Ah, I see, a bond forged in alcohol -- the strongest kind there is," Zedaph said with a sarcastic flair.
"Don't sass me!"
"Do you remember what he looks like at least?" asked Zedaph.
"Blond, pointy-eared, red pupils, red sclera, probably Blazeborne," Impulse hummed, "...red shirt, some kinda vest...and that's about it, I think," Impulse shrugged.
Zedaph placed his fingers on his chin, "Ah, Tango of the Tek Clan." he hummed, "Yeah, I know him. He usually comes during winter, which I suppose is why you two never met. He heard about the jack-o-lantern festival and wanted to see it this year. He's homeless but he's got a few haunts I can list down for you later."
Impulse hummed, "Hm, I see, thanks, Zed. Do you know if he raided any ancient libraries or wells of forbidden knowledge or..?"
Zedaph replied, "If he has then he hasn't said anything about it," then muttered, "well, either that or he only did when he was absolutely smashed..."
The bartender thought for a moment and seemed to have come to a realization, "...hey, hang on a minute! You never really said where you were going in the first place!"
"Oh, the Aether," Impulse said as casually as he could.
"The Aether."
"The Aether."
"W-"
"It seemed like a good idea at the time, okay?" Impulse put his hands up exasperatedly, "And I have a feeling finding him would make things a little bit easier, so can you help me? Find him, that is."
"'fraid I can't, mate, got into a bit of trouble and now Graph won't let me out of her sight for at least a couple weeks," he took a glance at Graphoniac, who glared at him warily, and gave a sheepish smile.
"Aw man."
"Look at the recruitment board maybe?" Zedaph shrugged, "There's got to be at least one idiot out there who's willing to help you."
"Hey! But also, good idea!" Impulse took his mug and stoid from the bar stool , "Thanks Zed!"
Anderson doesn’t respond, staring directly through the questioner with a hollow stare. His form glitches, his body moving just slightly, but his eyes staying fixed in place. Dead pixels linger in the air and can be seen on his breath.
“It’s just’a pinch,” he says, the words out of sync with his mouth. It’s not his voice. “I swear it on my grandma’s grave, kid. It’s just the trainin’ wheels before your Big Day. It ain’t gonna turn your brain to mush, I swears it. Just focus on the questions.”
