Friday, I spent the afternoon at an exotic birb sanctuary and rescue. The staff gave me a lil’ bucket of nuts and fruit and explained how to feed them.
I gave one birb a grape, and his roommate wanted it too, so they had words about who got to eat it.
There was a lot of parrots and macaws, but they also had peacocks and chickens, and a few cockatoos.
I even found some cockatiels, which is the type of birb I’d like to have. One of them whistled at me and asked “whatcha doin’?” I let that one nibble of a soft pasta noodle, which seemed to be appreciated.
In the main office, they had some of the special needs birbs, and I was allowed to hold a one-legged African Grey parrot and get love nibbles from a cockatoo called Sweetie.
Saturday was for hockey tho.
The Ice Flyers won 5-4 in overtime. I bought a stack of pucks for Chuck-A-Puck, but didn’t win anything.
