WARNING: THIS FIC CONTAINS EXPLICIT SMUT AND SLIGHT SPOILERS FROM THE WUTHERING HEIGHTS MOVIE
You had no idea what was wrong with you.
You looked at yourself in the bathroom mirror, as if both the solution to your problems and the problem itself were about to materialize on the reflective surface in front of you, but nothing of the sort happened.
That's why you left the house and ran far, far away, to a place where you knew no one could find you, a hollow between two rocks, similar to a cave but not as deep.
You sat down on one of them and stopped to think about why you were in this state.
In the end, all the questions you were asked had the same answer.
You had fallen in love with Heathcliff, and you didn't know what to do with that information.
You had known him since you were children, you had grown up together in the same house your whole lives, and you yourself had known him by that name because of your brother who had died several winters ago.
As the years passed, you stopped seeing him as a child and began to see him as a man, who was kind, understanding, good-hearted, and handsome—very handsome.
You shook your head, trying to get rid of those thoughts, but it was impossible.
Your mind betrayed you every few seconds, sending you images of him in different situations.
Heathcliff feeding the horses, his torso bare, so you could see the beads of sweat trickling down his broad back, along with the marks from your father's whip, the result of a beating he'd taken to protect you.
Heathcliff chopping wood in the back of the house, bringing the axe down so hard against the log that his arm muscles bulged and the veins bulged beneath his skin.
Heathcliff showing Joseph how to organize the horses so they wouldn't have any trouble getting along.
Heathcliff, Heathcliff, Heathcliff—that's all you could think about.
Your mind gave you no rest, night after night, day after day.
All the time, twenty-four hours a day.
Without you noticing, he'd slipped his hand under the hem of your dress and inside your underwear.
Soft sighs escaped your lips as you imagined another hand touching you.
You were so oblivious to everything around you that you didn't notice a worried Heathcliff making his way across the field to where you were.
We mentioned earlier that you were the only person who knew about this hiding place, but you didn't remember that he did too.
Heathcliff knew that when you needed to be alone or disconnect from the world for a while, this was your favorite place, a spot where you could connect with yourself and your thoughts with complete freedom.
The problem was that he had seen you leave the house as if the devil himself were chasing you, so obviously he had to go and see if you were alright.
He was about to reach the entrance when he heard a noise, something like a gasp.
At first he thought you had fallen and hurt yourself, but when he tilted his head a little more and saw you, he realized that what he thought had nothing to do with what was really happening.
Your hand was tucked under your clothes, your head was leaning against the rock behind you, and your lips were slightly parted, from which several gasps and broken sighs escaped.
Heathcliff stood there for a moment watching you, before turning to leave, but to his surprise he almost slipped on a pile of stones, which made a clinking sound that alerted you, making you turn your head towards where you had heard the noise coming from.
Your eyes widened when you saw Heathcliff's figure.
At first you didn't know what to do, but when you pulled yourself together and your body reacted, you jumped to your feet and started walking away.
"Y/N," he called, following you. "Wait!"
"Heathcliff, you… you shouldn't have seen…" you blurted out, mortified. "What are you doing here? You should go home. Father will whip you if he finds out you've left home again without his permission."
"We're not children anymore, Y/N," he murmured. "I don't owe Father any explanations," he said. "If he wants to whip me, let him. I came all the way here to see if you were alright," he confessed. "I saw you leave the house too quickly, and I thought you were hurt, or worse, that someone had hurt you," he explained. "But now that I see that's not the case, I should go back then."
"No!" Wait, I… -you murmured- I'm sorry, Heathcliff, I didn't mean to… please don't be angry with me.
"I'm not angry, just a little confused, that's all."
"Confused?" you questioned. "What do you mean?"
"What were you doing before?" he asked, getting straight to the point. "There's no point in lying to me because I'll know when you do," he said. "You're a terrible liar."
"That's not true!" you shrieked, running away from him. He reached you in two strides and hoisted you onto his shoulder as if you weighed nothing
"Heathcliff, let me go!" you exclaimed, playfully hitting him on the back.
When you did, you realized you were back in the cave, where you'd been alone just minutes before.
"Now that we're back where it all began, maybe it'll be easier to explain what you were doing before I arrived," he whispered, his gaze meeting yours intensely.
"I don't know what you're talking about," you said, tilting your head to avoid looking at him. "I wasn't doing anything."
"Y/N," he murmured, holding your chin between his thumb and forefinger so you would look at him, "I thought we made it clear you're not very good at lying." He whispered, placing his hand next to yours on the rock, leaning slightly towards you. "Whatever it is, you can tell me" he whispered, pressing his index finger to his lips. "I won't tell anyone"
"I know you won't," you murmured. "Even so, I…" You pressed your lips together tightly. "I'm really embarrassed to tell you."
"We've known each other for a long time, Y/N." “Shame isn’t something we possess anymore,” he said, making you smile nervously. “Tell me about it.”
“Well… I… was…” you murmured, “…thinking about you, I don’t know why, I… I’ve tried to understand it but I can’t find any explanation.”
“I see” he said. “And what happened next?” he whispered, making soothing circles on the inside of your wrist.
“I heard there’s something you can do, a place you should stimulate to relieve the pressure you feel in your body from time to time,” you confessed. “I… was trying to release that pressure when you arrived.”
“Well? Did you manage it?” “—he asked gently, you shook your head—
“I don’t know, I don’t think so,” you shrugged, “I don’t even know what I’m supposed to feel, so… well, I haven’t felt anything.”
“If you haven’t felt anything, it’s because you haven’t done it right, or maybe you have, but you haven’t gotten where you’re supposed to,” he said, sliding his fingers down to stop at the waistband of your skirt, “that spot you were talking about earlier… it’s here.” He placed his palm on your lower abdomen. “I can make it stop hurting, Y/N, I can relieve that pressure you feel… only if you want to, of course.”
“Yes, I do want to, I want you to touch me,” you blurted out faster than you intended, making him smile. “Will it hurt?”
“I would never do anything to hurt you, Y/N,” he whispered. “It’ll feel strange at first, but once you get used to it, you’ll enjoy it, I promise.”
“Okay, do it,” you said, clenching your toes tightly as he lifted your skirt.
You felt his long, cold fingers slide along the soft skin of your inner thighs, sending shivers down your spine.
Heathcliff didn’t miss a single detail of the expressions that crossed your face, eager to etch them into his memory for later.
His index and middle fingers slipped inside you… but just like before, you felt nothing.
“Surely this is what you did before, isn’t it?” You nodded, unable to speak. "You were doing well, you were doing VERY well, but you didn't finish the job," he whispered, his eyes locked on yours. "Look at me," he asked. "That's it, good girl," he whispered, making you gasp at the tone of his voice.
You felt his fingers curl inside you, causing a moan to escape your lips.
He touched a spot inside you that you didn't even know existed, but from the moment he touched you, you wished he would never stop.
"Heathcliff, I can't… I'm going to…"
"Do it, darling, I've got you. I always will" he assured you.
You involuntarily dug your nails into his shoulders, feeling yourself release, and the pressure you'd felt a few minutes ago vanished as if it had never existed.
"Are you okay?" he asked, searching your eyes with his gaze, and when you smiled at him, he knew everything was fine.
"Yes, I'm… fine," you replied, making him smile. "We should go back before it gets dark," you said, looking up at the sky.
"Of course, let's go back" he said, gently taking your hand to help you up, before placing a loving kiss on your knuckles.
