The perfect alone-on-a-Friday-night /Ā narcissistĀ anthem, AMIRITE? But seriously, the Internet is literally an endless treasure trove of nostalgia-triggering childhood artifacts that never ceases to blow my mind. Like, the song in this old Fox Kid's PSA has been haunting me FOR THE PAST 14 OR SO YEARS, but I only just now decided to search for it on YouTube -- I guess I had always just thought it was a false memory or something.
Also, does anybody remember the British boy band 911?! I sure don't, but it turns out they're the three cheeseballs in this PSA, as well as the band behind THIS SUPER-CATCHY POP SONG, which has also been haunting me for the past 14 or so years. Like, I've always vaguely remembered it as that one song that plays over the end credits of that shitty straight-to-VHSĀ Casper prequel with Lori Loughlin (aka Becky fromĀ Full House), the sheriff from The Big Green, and the girl from Beetleborgs, but thanks to a comment on the page for the PSA video, I now know it's a goddamn 911 song (and here I thought the '90s British boy band game was just 5ive, Westlife, and Boyzone). It's like looking back at old photos and having that jarring revelation where you suddenly notice the same person creeping in the background of every photo.Ā
So yeah, thanks for the vague, haunting memories, 911. And for planting the seeds ofĀ narcissismĀ in my impressionable little mind.Ā
