In spite of every potential sign that Hayden possibly didn’t want to be his friend, Auden- the rather socially inept of the lot, had still called. He was hoping that the little chat the two had while on the London Eye, would have been one that would offer him his first, true friendship, with a guy at Sutton- that hadn’t been founded upon a short stint of intimacy.. Instead, like any socially awkward, oblivious person, he called for the fifth time this week- only to receive his voicemail.. In Auden’s mind, he was worried.. They were in a foreign place, where they didn’t know where to go, he knew almost none of Hayden’s friends, and if he did, he’d never been formally introduced so he had..no true means of finding them.. He could have been lost.. He could have been hurt, or sick.. And that’s what worried him more.. Far more than the thought of not having a friend..As the phone message rolled over Hayden’s voice and finally beeped, Auden took in a quick breath, and let it out as he began to speak,” Oi ..” - he paused to begin pacing, just outside the hotel room as he massaged his fingers through his scalp,” Hayds.. You have me worried sick bru.. “ - another puff of air left his mouth as he continued to pace, sliding his hand down the side of his face,” I can’t find anyone to ask where you, I don’t know where to start looking- and I’m really nervous cause we’re in a place none of us ‘ave ever been before. “ - in this worried state, his accent was ridiculous.. It was easy to turn it off if need be, but right now, he was more worried than being entirely understandable. “ Give me a call back, yeah? Just so I know you ain’t hurt or nothin’.. ““ Alright.. later.. “ - Auden pulled his phone from his face to both check for any texts and to hang up.. Nothing.. With a dejected sigh, he sat against the wall, and closed his eyes, shaking his head slowly. Hopefully Hayden would give him the benefit of the doubt and at least text him to say he was fine.
