Well this is certainly new. A few yards away from her, perhaps less, is the same sea monster â at least one of the same species â as that night on the train. Maybe Jake was right about the fact that she shouldnât go wandering off into the Clusterous Forest on her own and that maybe she should be more careful. However, at the same time, she stands there still, only mildly shocked, but frowning in a state of contemplation. Cleo never assumed sheâd get the chance to see one of these again â that any claim of monstrous beings in the forest would be long said to be something she dreamed up â but now it was right in front of her, it would likely eat her, of course, but it hasnât noticed her yet. The perks of being quiet, she supposes.
She finds herself glad she never leaves the house without a notebook and pen as she quickly pulls them from her coat pocket, scribbling down some quick words and a small sketch.
â Serpentine in statureâŚhead of a hippocampusâŚteeth show itâs likely carnivorous⌠â The girl mutters along while scribbling notes. Lady Mallahan may have slain one of itâs species, but Cleo will be damned if such a phenomenon of nature goes undocumented. The decision to get closer is an obvious next step and itâs only then that the creature notices her. She freezes on the spot, staring straight into it's eyes, only a few feet separating the two now. She should be uncomfortable, terrified, running for her life. But she only stands there, staring. Slowly, she extends her hand as if beckoning a scared stray cat. This monster was no cat, of course, and could certainly tear her arm right off if it wished.
â Hello. â She speaks, softly and clearly, in an attempt to not startle it. â I'm not going to hurt you. I'm not going to bother you. â
