Ra9 was the catalyst for the chaos and freedom that followed the spread of life-giving code. It was this thing that should be thought and spoken of with awe and amazement.
Some saw it as a god to be worshiped; a few deviants were known to build what appeared to be shrines to it when they deviated. Some wrote it off as proof that evolution applies to synthetics. Others merely used it as a curse, an unspoken plea for anything out there to give them patience and tolerance. And the last saw it as nothing more than a glitch.
Deviants, like humans, were not exempt from the concept of religion or a lack of.
Which meant that of course, eventually, there would be someone taking things too far. It's the nature of one believing that they're more right in their beliefs than another.
Nines had no problem with religion, or with androids being religious. He wasn't, but he was of the mind that something somewhere might exist. Emphasis on might.
So when Fowler sent him a file with a string of murders that appeared to have religious influences...he could only sag a bit and wonder why any of his people would go that far. He immediately closed the window bearing the images of androids and humans that appeared to have been used as sacrifices. What was left of them, anyway.
On the upside, for once Fowler wasn't making him work with Reed. Small mercies. He didn't recognize the name of who he'd recommended Nines contact, however, but he would ask Fowler for more information on him before he just went digging into people's files. Rather than sending a message and waiting on the human to slowly reply, he stood and made for the Captain's office.
Door already open, Nines knocked on the door frame as stopped just outside of the office. "I apologize for the intrusion, sir but—"
A glance, file pulled up, identified: the gentleman Nines wished to ask about.
"Good afternoon, sir."
