Finals week. What a joy. What a week filled with papers, exams, presentations and more all while students were hopped up on caffeine and sleeping in corners of the library. For Octavia, it was a splendid time of year as she made sure to stay ahead of her assignments to avoid the classic downward spiral of fellow classmates. She handed over her final paper, happy to be done with foreign policies in conflict states for a semester. Only one more exam and another paper before packing up and spending break with her parents, upending their lives with a few parent directed pranks.
Octavia hustled back to her dorm room and tossed her backpack towards the bed assuming it’d land on her bed. It didn’t. The bag hit the corner of her bed and poured every sheet of paper and textbook onto the floor creating an even bigger mess around her stuff. The proper thing to do was clean up, but Octavia preferred hopping over the books and onto her bed. Her hand smacked against a magazine detailing the reveal of La Voiture Noire, a sleek black car that apparently put the car world on edge. How in the world could a single car cost 12 million and sell for even more? She scanned the article, reading up on the horsepower and engine type, but having zero clue on what the words meant. But there was someone who knew.
Octavia scrambled off her bed taking the magazine with her and dashing out of the hallway for Basil’s room. The two hadn’t chatted about the banquet yet and she was awfully curious about the dance between him and the Vixen. She knocked again and again and once more with vigor, but no answer at 224. "Boo,” she groaned, giving the door a quick kick. Only one more place to check before she call it quits and go chat up the librarians. Octavia poked her head into the common room and threw a silent fist into the air as she spotted Basil in the corner. “Yo Walcott! I saw this article about this really expensive car and I want to know why it’s so expensive.” She took a seat opposite from him and slid over the magazine article. “More importantly how you feelin this Finals week? Even more important how are you!”
