Jobe wouldn’t consider himself the type of guy who was twenty four seven on their girlfriend Dm’s, he liked his space and he knew she liked hers, but now it was different. Since Jobe moved to Dortmund and didn’t have that —almost daily— touch of her, he was becoming one.
He became more clingy. Not in an annoying way, he made sure of that, but he was constantly checking his phone and debating whether he should call her or not. Jobe did call her every night and if he didn’t do it for any reason she would call him too.
But all that changed for a week, his first training camp with BvB and he had to be as focused as he could. The training was exhausting to say the least, waking up very early in the morning to push his body to the limit and in bed early to do the same the next day.
Of course, that affected the communication, she, being busy with college and work, and him, being busy with training camp, that let them a couple of minutes to chat without interruptions before one of them had to leave.
It was the fourth day when Jobe really felt her absence. Yes, her good morning text was there and the little talk they managed to have, but that feeling was deeper, right on his chest, pushing his heart low.
The day was horrible for him, Jobe had a good practice and the trainer congratulated him, but he did everything without wanting to. Feets heavy and that feeling on his chest almost making him cry. He didn’t know why he was feeling that way, it had never happened before and Jobe only wanted for it to go away.
His day was over, after very long hours he took a well deserved hot shower, all the tiredness falling to his feet with the water but the wish of having her right next to him never went away. Jobe didn’t know that feeling in his heart was because he missed her, but he was sure that all the bad feelings he ever had went away when she was with him.
Walking out of the bathroom with the white towel hanging low on his hips he checked his phone. Two messages for her, she telling him a micro story about something silly that happened to her. He laughed, just a little bit, and checked the hour, late. He thought for a couple of seconds before pressing the button on the screen. Soon enough, after two or three beeps she answered. Her face on full display with the beautiful smile she got the moment she saw Jobe’s name on her screen.
“Hi, baby” She said while looking up her phone, Jobe assumed she was still on her way home. “How was your day?” she looked at her screen while saying it, but her eyes didn’t stay long on her phone, more worried about running into someone.
Jobe didn’t answer right away, he just stared at her. The familiar soft features on her face, those rebel hairs in her face, the ones he loved to play with, her soft cheeks a little pink thanks to the movement. Jobe was mesmerised and suddenly his day became better.
The horrible feeling on his chest dissipating, “Baby, is everything alright?” she asked when he didn’t answer her.
“Yes, it was very tiring tho” his eyes were glued to the screen. Jobe saw how she got into her house and how she moved more into it.
“Yeah?” she asked a little bit distracted with leaving her stuff before turning her whole attention to him only to see him nodding. “Well, today was one less day for you to rest properly,” she said while throwing herself in her bed.
“How was your day?” he lay down still on his towel.
“Good, I finally finished the project,” she answered with the biggest smile on her face, “really missed you tho” the smile faded a little.
“Yeah, me too” they just stared at each other for a couple of seconds, enjoying the presence of the other. “I don’t know if I can do this without you” he whispered, afraid of breaking the bubble they were into.
She pouted and he groaned, wanting to kiss her. “Don’t say that because you’re gonna make me cry” she stayed in silence for more seconds. “It's only half a year, baby, maybe after I finish college I can move in with you”.
“God, please” Jobe said, full of hope.
And it was real, neither of them could live without each other, so she would be definitely moving in with him in less than a year.
