Bookstore Book Signing Event Featuring What's In A Life by Dr. Mark Athanasios C. Karras
Hitler’s demolished paratroops Crete, Dachau Greek victims in Nazi Germany, Greeks Americans vs Nazis Fascists, Mussolini’s disgrace Greece, Churchill vs Stalin about Greece, Russian Front WW II, Nazi Inflationary currency 1940s Greece, Marshall Plan Truman, Truman Economic Recovery Act 1948, 28 October 1940 Greece, War negative converted to postwar positive, Post-war art of youthfulness while aging.
The above array of phrases is but a miniscule list of an otherwise plethora of subjects that can be discussed regarding World War II. The list is intended to acquaint readers with the variety of subjects that comprise the content of the book. Although the book’s genre is biographical, it evolves more into an informational reference. One reason is that it is quite well documented for the purpose of establishing the authenticity of its content. The other reason is the objectivity and frequent neutrality in broaching personal experiences—that is, it is an attempt to project personal experiences as a reflection of a universal condition affecting the whole population. There is also an attempt in the book to promote a positive attitude toward life, when coming out of a protracted negative existence of war and occupation. It is in effect the art of mastering the negative and destructive aspects of life, and converting them to one’s positive advantage. Failure to achieve this, of course is destructive and tends to become chronic or irreversible.
It is for this reason that a second book was written as a natural and logical sequel to what is mentioned above. The genre of the second book took another direction; yet, supportive of the positive content of the first book—that is, the urging to avoid a destructive or chronic downfall. The second book’s orientation is spiritual in its content with extended discussions and familiarization with self-improvement and expanding self-awareness, leading to a broader and far-reaching sense of life and purpose. In the process, this understanding contributes to a sustained experience of maintaining youthfulness while aging. The title of the second book is, “Seven Gates to Freedom – Awareness and Consciousness,” which also has been favored with two awards of excellence.
