the entire world

is in hot pursuit for candy

in plastic eggs.

Jesus is risen

but that doesn’t make sense,

because don’t bodies decay,

but souls live on?

maybe his is in one of us

we just don’t know it,

and it’s weird because

you didn’t text me back last night.

and so i waited, and waited, and waited,

even though it tasted like pine sol

i wanted to feel 

okay.

I’m stupid and eighteen

and need purpose.

today,

three things fall on the same day,

seemingly unrelated,

and you still haven’t texted me back.

There are a thousand things I should be doing

but why in the world am I doing this?
