the public transport thing is also made difficult by the fact that many people rely on public transport for daily function. like obviously the solution to “many rely on public transport to get to and from work” is for most occupations “people should get paid time off so as not to have to come in to work in the first place” but it’s also a really important consideration that people may rely on it for access to food, healthcare etc – obviously there are things that can be done to mitigate this, but it is important that any closing of public transport is done in conjunction with measures taken to ensure that people who rely on public transport have a reliable access to necessities
