thank you! 💙💙💙 Leia/Leah/Lea/whatever is fascinating to me. she is the ultimate unknown. what was she like? how involved (or even aware of any details of the invasion) was she? Silver's basically a physical carbon copy of his biodad, so what did he get from her? like, I understand why the two of them kind of have to stay as these super vague and mysterious figures -- the whole point of them is that their story ended 400+ years ago and they're not really relevant anymore (and. well. the more that gets explained about them, the less that can just kinda be handwaved as "oh the politics were Very Messy") (we can sit here and theorize all day but let us acknowledge that, ultimately, canon gave us almost nothing about them post-Meleanor and we'd just be making things up). I do still wonder about her though! RIP Lea, we never knew you and we probably never will.

actually you know what, as long as we're here, I think I WILL go ahead and just make some stuff up about what Silver might've inherited from her instead.

I think I'm too depressed to have online conversations about politics. Like no joke I don't think I'm mentally in the right place to do that or get involved in that. That's why I love fandom because it's fun. It's not exhausting and it distracts me from being depressed. I used to be able to argue online, even about real life political stuff but I'm not anymore.

ultimately you can yell at a kid all you want for a behavior that you don't like but it's never going to be as effective at giving that child Something Else to do. and not everybody's going to know that right away. but after a certain point it seems like common sense

#dealing with kids who are 'acting out' often requires a lot of personal attention cause what they want most of the time #is really for you to engage with them. so i understand why it's difficult when you've got a whole class of kids and it's just you.#but like. come on. if you can't sit with them and personally entertain them. get that poor child a worksheet or smth.#agonized over a child i met this week who is so obviously lashing out cause he needs more attention from the adults around him #and CANNOT take direct instruction a lot of the time #in a 'he's going to immediately say no if you tell him to do something' way.#but like... yeah he's yelling at people nd not paying attention to stuff #but we were watching a video and he was constantly talking to his friend/moving around #so i sat next to him and played rock paper scissors with him silently while the rest of the group watched the video #and like. first of all immediately he smiles if you engage with him positively.#he tries to hide it because he's big and tough (he's in first grade) but little boys are so bad at hiding smiles #it's so clear that he just needs more positive attention.#kids like that it's alwayssssss just that they have smth going on... he was drawing a house and i asked if that was his mom nd dad's house #and he said 'no. it's my MOM'S house.' and there you go. alright. i get what's going on with you. duly noted buddy #but whatever whatever whatever POINT IS #if you redirect him and give him another activity/some responsibility/personal attention his lashing out drops DRAMATICALLY #and i've only known him what. two days? but by being a positive adult figure who sympathizes with him and approaches him #like a child and not a problem. i can already tell the difference in how he responds to me #+ i've been able to adapt the way i propose things/ask for things to go with what he needs. which also makes a difference #turns out kids are way more willing to listen to things when they know you respect them... crazy...#anyway. my boy. my little guy. putting him in my pocket straight up.#children who have obviously been labeled a 'problem child' by all the adults in their life you are so precious to me forever...#the world if adults realized that kids always have something Going On and went for empathy first.#children aren't just like that to spite you. they might be actively trying to spite you rn. but they're like that for a reason.#family situation or friend situation or neurodivergence or trauma. maybe not an Excuse but always a Reason #especially the little ones... my elementary schoolers... they're not big enough to be Deciding to be bad people yet...#they haven't done enough living... they're still learning how to be people at all...#anyway. i need to go to bed. people who have been teaching for forty years why are you yelling at your children #childcare #valentine notes

Hi again, long time no see ^-^

Anyone who's known me or my blog for a while knows I accidently take an autum/winter hiatus, now you may or may not have noticed my hiatus was a little longer then usual. I as usual was a little burnt out and bogged down by social media so after accidentally taking my hiatus decided to extend it and see just how long I could stay off social media for my mental health and to pursue some of my hobbies.

But... well... I Just can't stay away from you all, plus my blorbo's had nowhere but my own brain to bounce around in and I can only rotate them 360' in my imagination for so long without input, sharing and or content to devour at unholy speeds XD

God, 2021Movie!Sonya is just so good. She lives alone like an hermit in her secret mobile-home H.Q where she's not only keeping her conspiracy researches about some ancient homicidal tournament but also some criminal mastermind leader guy that she tied up on a chair and who's supposed to be her #1 mortal nemesis but whom she's weirdly cool with to some extent because he just chills in her couch and steals her beer and she's like "yeah sure, whatever" but also she's always this 🤏 close to deck him in the face and she did do that actually but she would do so throughout the whole movie without stopping if there wasn't a plot to take care of- like look how done she looks whenever Kano speaks. Guy's been tied up on a chair for who knows how long listening to her yapping because girl is such a yapper and they're constantly threatening to kill each other. She stabs him in the leg with his own knife on accident and she doesn't give a shit. She has trapdoors in her floor because of course Sonya Blade would have trapdoors in her floor. She loves her home but also admits the place kinda sucks. She drinks shitty beers because she probably is too tired to give a shit what she drinks as long as it works its magic on her constantly running mind. I wonder if the people of the city she lives in talk about her, if they even know about her. Like, "yeah, that's the woman living in the local wasteland, she's kinda crazy and she'll beat you up if you trespass onto her home and you'll never be seen again." No one knows she's a decorated S.F soldier, she's just the weird hardcore survivalist wasteland woman to them. She's just vibing the whole time because she's happy to know her theories are true and she's not insane but she's always known she was right anyways and now she's just 100% on board with this whole "let's save the world" plan. So what if she doesn't have the magic Chosen One™ mark? "Fuck you, I'm a self-appointed chosen one now and I'm staying whether or not you like it *glares at Kung Lao*.
